Honda Siel Cars India Ltd launched new variant with Civic which has enhanced features further adding value to the model’s appeal. The new Civic SMT is now equipped with a steering mounted cruise control system that helps to cruise at the desired speed to ensure comfort and convenience for the customer with one-touch operation and ORVM turn indicators that makes it more stylish and enhances the looks of the car. Honda Civic VMT & VAT comes with back up sensors that enables the driver a smooth and hassle free reversing.
The Honda Civic comes fully loaded with various active and passive safety features including ABS (Anti – Lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic Brake – Force Distribution System) & Brake Assist, Dual SRS airbags and pre-tensioner seat belts. Honda Siel Cars India Reduces Prices by up to Rs 31,000
Posted by Admin | 9:21 PM | Honda, Prices | 0 comments »The prices have been revised following the reduction in Central Value Added Tax (CENVAT). The new prices will be effective from December 8, 2008.
Commenting on duty reduction and other economic measures announced by the government on Sunday, Mr. M. Takedagawa, President & CEO, Honda Siel Cars India, said, “We welcome this move by the government. The reduction in duty will give the necessary boost to consumer demand and fuel growth in the Indian economy. We feel it will also arrest the negative growth in the automobile sector. We are happy to pass on the benefit of the duty reduction to our customers with immediate effect.”
HSCI was considering a price increase for Honda cars from January 2009, due to cost of imports because of the weakening of the rupee against dollar and Yen. While the price increase on all the production models has been postponed for the time being, the CR-V prices will be increase by at least Rs 1 lakh with effect from the first week of January 2009.

Honda slashed Civic Hybrid price by 8.14 lakh.

Previously it was just double of normal Civic & now it is almost the same in price segment. The hybrid Civic will cost Rs. 13.36 lakh compared to its launch price of Rs 21.5 lakh. But this offer not for long time, its just limited period, till December this year.
It is the first time when Honda slashed a big amount of prices. The company, which operates as Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) in India, said the decision to cut the price was aimed at making eco-friendly cars more affordable. The Civic Hybrid is India’s first full Hybrid vehicle. Its 1.3 litre petrol engine and an electric battery give it an average mileage of 20 kilometers per litre of petrol, making it the most fuel-efficient car in its category on Indian roads.
Honda VP Mr. Jnaneshwar Sen told to media that “we got a huge response from people about it, they wanted to by Hybrid it had more import duty cost so, they can’t able to buy it. We have taken a hit on the price to offer this eco-friendly technology to potential customers. There have been thousands of enquiries for the Hybrid, which had not culminated in actual sales.”

With its aesthetically appealing strong & sleek exterior style, the third generation Honda City is sure to be the most stunning car on Indian roads. The all-new City’s unique ‘Arrow Shot Form’ design gives it a powerful and imposing presence. Seen from the front, the streamlined grill and sharp headlights deliver a distinctive road presence. With the City’s shortened rear end, the aerodynamic looking rear combination lights enhance its sporty looking tail design. The new City offers 15 inch wheel base and the design contribute to making the Arrow-shot form even more impressive.
The all new Honda City is longer, wider and sturdier. It measures 4420 mm in length (5 mm longer than its predecessor if license plate is excluded) and 1695 mm in width (5 mm wider) While maintaining the same ground clearance and same head clearance, the height has been lowered by 15 mm to 1480 mm delivering a sleeker and sturdier body shape which gives the City a refined driving position. The new Honda City 2008 edition would come loaded with a variety of new features & a Honda spokesperson said the new City-2008 will be loaded with a host of jazzy features.

HSCI posts a 5.4% growth in June '08

Before the cut, City was priced between Rs 6.80 lakh and Rs 8.65 lakh, while Civic cost between Rs 10.91 lakh and Rs 12.41 lakh.
"We have received notification from the government on the central sales tax cut from 3% to 2% announced in the Budget. Hence we are reducing the prices of our models City and Civic to pass the benefit to consumers," a Honda Siel Cars India official said.
Everybody has surprised to know that Honda has cut prices of those sedan models, while the all makes are increasing prices like India number one make Maruti Suzuki India had increased prices upto Rs. 18,000 and second largest manufacturer Hyundai Motor India also going to increase prices this week.
