Swedish car major Volvo Car Corporation is set to make an Indian debut of its luxury cars within the next few weeks. The company on Wednesday announced it will be launching its two flagship models S80 and XC90 on September 6th. The two cars will be available in petrol (with 3.2 litre and 4.4 litre V8 engines respectively) and diesel variants (2.5 litre D5) at the three Volvo dealerships, one each in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh. Initially, both the cars will be imported into India as completely built units (CBUs) from the Volvo Sweden plant and will be available in 14 colours.
The company will also provide free two year warranty and factory schedules maintenance up to 60,000 km (whichever is earlier). While the S80 sedan petrol variant will be priced at Rs. 39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the diesel variant will be cheaper by Rs One lakh. Similarly, petrol version of SUV X90 can be had for Rs. 46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the diesel version will cost Rs. 45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
