Hyundai Motor India Ltd., the country’s largest passenger car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer, as part of its initiative to promote eco-friendly and non polluting means of transport, today launched the much-awaited LPG version of its flagship brand Santro. The LPG variant will be priced Rs 21,500 more than the existing petrol model. The new LPG version of Santro, christened Santro eco (eco is synonymous with environmentally friendly and economy) comes with a factory fitted LPG kit and boasts of features that meet global standards of performance and safety.

Powered by the 1.1 litre, eRLX engine, Santro eco offers its customers a unique combination of reliable performance and unmatched fuel economy. With separate Petrol (35 Litre) and LPG (27.2 litre) tanks, the customers have an option to choose from both LPG and petrol mode. The LPG tank in the Santro eco has a special ‘Toroidal’ design that allows intelligent use of space and makes larger luggage room available to the customer.

Announcing the launch, HMIL, Managing Director, H S Lheem, said, “We have taken a conscious decision at Hyundai to make environment friendly car and we are furthering our initiative of launching alternate fuel vehicle which take this theme forward. We had earlier introduced the CNG Santro and today we are launching the LPG version of our flagship brand Santro. LPG is widely available and we feel that the LPG Santro will appeal to all our customers who are looking for economy, are environmentally conscious and the original fitment of the LPG kit will put to rest safety concerns which retro fitted LPG vehicles have.”

The LPG kit in Santro eco is impact resistant and the entire fitment is approved by DOE (Department of Explosives) and certified and tested by ARAI (Automotive research Association of India), the country’s premier automobile testing and certifying authority. The factory-fitted LPG system in Santro eco enjoys full 2 year manufacturer warranty benefits thus ensuring enhanced safety and peace of mind for the customers. Santro eco also boasts of the lowest greenhouse gas emission as it emits lower CO2, as compared to the petrol or the diesel version, hence making it extremely environmentally friendly.

Finally Maruti launched 800 DUO, after having revolutionized the Indian automobile space 250 years ago, Maruti 800 is all set to repeat history with the all new Maruti 800 Duo. It runs on both LPG and Petrol and ensures that every Indian gets the Luxury of four wheels along with an efficient fuel option that's cheaper, cleaner and ensures complete safety while driving. And with a convenient switching option, zero power drop while changing fuel modes, a company fitted LPG kit and minimal emissions, the Maruti 800 Duo gives you complete peace of mind too.

The Maruti 800 Duo works on Gas Mixer System based on Integrated Gas Technology which results in optimum performance and superior emissions. The Maruti 800 Duo delivers a power of 35ps@5000 rpm and torque of 56Nm@2500 rpm. The LPG variant emits 10% lower CO2 than the petrol variant, hence is environment friendly.

Designed in-house by a team of 24 engineers, the Maruti 800 Duo saw active participation of some of the young engineers in the company.

The concept of the project was to make a cost effective LPG variant, which would deliver the performance equivalent to the Injection systems.

A possibility becomes reality with the LPG version of Maruti 800. It would be launched in next couple of month. Spokesmen are saying that Maruti takes this decision after Tata’s newly launched Indica V2 Xeta LPG version, it’s becoming very popular in buyers because mileage is the best thing for the car owners and CNG/LPG engine gives awesome mileage. Maruti Suzuki is currently selling WagonR Duo with Petrol & LPG variants, now they want to fit this kit with 800. Really it will be a great thought & advantage in Automobile sector by Maruti Owners. Expect the price to be around 2.5 lakh for this new LPG 800 & Gas Technology, deliver a power of 35 ps @ 5000 rpm and torque of 56 nm @ 2500 rpm. The car is expected to emit 10 per cent lower carbon dioxide than the petrol variant.














One more great news from Tata motors; it has also launched a new LPG fuel engine with Indica Xeta really. The environment-friendly, fuel-conscious Indica V2 Xeta LPG comes in two variants GLE (BS-III) Rs. Rs.331,164 (Ex-showroom Mumbai) & GLS (BS-III) Rs.350,092 (Ex-showroom Mumbai).

If you still don't get it you aren't dumb, you just need more information. The new Indica V2 Xeta LPG comes with a company-fitted LPG kit that safely switches to Petrol as and when you need it.
