GM India is looking at alternative fuels and is working on CNG and LPG vehicles, a senior official said. “We are looking at CNG and LPG vehicles for India and are closely working with our regional partners in Thailand (for CNG) and Korea (for LPG) in this connection,” the GM India, director (vehicles integration) India, Mr. Ravi Desai, told reporters in Bangalore on Thursday. The automaker is aggressively working on its biodiesel programme and has sought 80 hectares of land in Gujarat to cultivate jatropha, He said.
A company official said it will “continues to invest $6-8 billion annual in advanced engineering” and added “innovation” is the top priority in GM.
